In 2025, the growth of the Russian MICE services market, based on the combined performance indicators of the ranking participants, slowed significantly and amounted to 2.7%. The market volume reached RUB 29.6 billion. Taking into account the official inflation rate of 5.59% at the end of 2025, this indicates a decline in real terms. However, the situation varies considerably from company to company.
The weighted average growth rate of companies included in the ranking reached 10.6%, although the performance indicators across individual companies remain unevenly distributed. Positive dynamics are primarily demonstrated by companies in the top half of the ranking. This structure points to increasing market concentration and a shrinking share of small and medium-sized players. Nineteen companies on the list — nearly every third participant — ended the year with negative dynamics, compared to only eight companies the year before.
«The market is currently undergoing processes that indicate the beginning of consolidation in the hands of major players. In difficult conditions, where cost control and spending efficiency become critical, large turnover volumes and established partnerships provide stability. At the same time, examples of several small and medium-sized companies demonstrate that even in such an environment, individual players are capable of achieving exponential growth through niche offerings, flexibility, and creativity.»

Several key factors are affecting the state of the MICE market: economic uncertainty, rising costs, and the geopolitical situation. Companies are massively cutting expenses unrelated to their core business activities. At the same time, the services themselves are becoming more expensive: prices for air tickets, accommodation, and event organization continue to rise. The broader macroeconomic environment is also having an impact, with some industries currently experiencing crisis conditions. Despite recent reductions, the Central Bank’s interest rate remains high, limiting access to credit financing.
«The MICE industry is becoming increasingly demanding when it comes to the quality of transportation services. Today, clients expect far more than just a comfortable vehicle — precision in operations, fast communication, unified service standards, and the provider’s ability to quickly adapt to the needs of an event have become essential. Many requests that were once considered highly customized are now viewed as a mandatory part of the basic service offering. In these conditions, the key competitive advantage lies not only in the fleet itself, but also in the level of organization, team preparation, and attention to detail at every stage of service delivery.»

It is still too early to make any forecasts for 2026. The conflict in the Middle East has effectively paralyzed one of the most popular outbound destinations — the Gulf countries — for several months. The conflict has also had indirect consequences: in particular, a further significant increase in airfare prices is expected due to oil price fluctuations. On the other hand, a possible normalization of the geopolitical situation could revive and stimulate the MICE market, especially at the international level.
«Under current conditions, when many traditional international MICE destinations have entered a zone of turbulence, more and more companies are shifting their focus toward domestic destinations. This also applies to locations that just 10 years ago were considered purely leisure destinations — such as Siberia and the Russian Far East. Altai is increasingly hosting large-scale corporate events and is ready to provide guests with an appropriate level of service.»

«For us, one of the key selection criteria is a company’s participation in the ranking itself, as it serves as an important indicator of business transparency. The results help us assess the stability and scale of a potential contractor. Of course, this is not the only factor — we always separately evaluate proposals, options, and case studies — but the ranking serves as a convenient starting point for us.»

The Russian MICE services market grew by 49% in 2023.
The total revenue of MICE agencies in Russia exceeded 22 billion rubles, showing a growth of 49% compared to 38% the year before.
Market growth was driven by several key factors:
These changes led to stronger competition in the market, however the top four leaders remained unchanged.
«It is clear that the MICE market has recovered after the pandemic. Both Russian and international companies are actively placing orders in the market. It should be noted that 20–30% of contracts are executed under an agency scheme where the contractor reflects only their commission rather than the full transaction turnover.»
«In addition, the report includes companies providing both business travel and MICE services without clearly separating revenues by each area. A significant part of the market is also arranged directly by clients or through agencies not included in this research. Considering these factors, I estimate the total market volume at approximately 22–23 billion rubles.»

«It is important to take into account the pace of inflation growth, which directly affects logistics and the industry as a whole. Therefore it is difficult to forecast continued rapid growth because the market itself, conditions and client objectives are changing.»

Since this year, the public financial statements of some companies include, in addition to revenue indicators, direct cash inflows within operating activities. These data are provided for reference, as they are not available for all rating participants and may include funds received within intermediary services. Final positions in the ranking are determined by the revenue indicator.
The Russian MICE market showed solid growth of 29% in 2024, reaching a volume of 28.8 billion rubles (compared to 22.3 billion in 2023). Compared to the previous year, the growth rate slowed, but this is largely due to the completion of the market adaptation period after the changes of 2022. Thus, the minimum estimate of the MICE market in Russia is 28.8 billion rubles, while the maximum (including agency commissions) reaches 40 billion rubles.
Inflation had a significant impact: according to the Central Bank of Russia, inflation reached 9.5% by the end of 2024. However, in some areas directly related to the industry the indicators were significantly higher. According to the Russian Union of Travel Industry, air ticket prices increased by more than 25% in 2024, while railway transportation grew by 15%.
«Despite some slowdown in growth, 2024 can be considered a successful year for the industry, even taking into account inflation and the noticeable increase in logistics costs. The market has stabilized, and the past year can probably be called the first relatively calm period after the major disruptions of recent years. Overall, we expect that indicators will at least remain at the same level this year, and the industry will continue to develop confidently.»

In 2024, 52 companies in the ranking demonstrated positive growth dynamics. 42 companies showed growth of more than 10%, and 22 exceeded 50%. The average growth rate was 46%. The TOP-5 companies account for 48% of the total market volume, and the TOP-10 for 62%.
«The overall shape of the MICE segment is still determined by the largest players. Competition remains high and, although industry leaders are the main drivers of the entire events market, some companies outside the top ten demonstrate steady growth and encourage others not only to maintain high standards but also to pay attention to new practices and solutions. This situation creates conditions for the organic development of the industry, stimulating the search for new development paths and additional growth points. Outstanding creative events inevitably find success and recognition both among clients and among MICE agencies. We expect this year to be even more successful and marked by bright memorable events whose implementation experience will benefit everyone.»

The further dynamics and market conditions of the MICE industry will largely depend on external factors, primarily political and economic. If relations normalize, consulates resume operations, and direct flights reopen, MICE activity may increase in the United States and other regions. The return of direct technical maintenance from aircraft manufacturers could also restrain ticket price growth. Another important factor is the strengthening of the Russian currency by nearly 20% by the end of last year and the policy of the Central Bank. However, the full impact of these factors will likely become clear only next year.
«The current stage of development of the MICE industry is complicated by instability in the transportation sector, including rising transfer costs. The departure of foreign car manufacturers has led to higher transport and maintenance costs. Despite this, operators strive to maintain quality by investing in personnel, fleets, and digitalization. Transfers are becoming a “value” service where not only transportation but also comfort and reliability matter.»
